Beebe96 (OMP Member #15685)

Beebe96 (OMP Member #15685) is an inspirational photographer in several ways. Not only does he take great shots of glamour girls, but he shoots all his photos from a wheelchair as the result of his physical limitations.

The Illinois resident got his start in photography in 1999 after a personal injury.

"In 1996 at the age of 34, I had a brain aneurysm. I was in a coma for 21 days. When I awoke, I found my left arm and leg partially paralyzed, leaving me in a wheelchair. I spent the next few years in and out of the hospital and rehab center learning how to care for myself. Finally, I was able to live on my own.

Once he got settled into a new apartment, Beebe had to find new ways to express his creativity.

"I decided to do something with my life, so I picked up a camera and started shooting. As a result, I found a passion for photography. Once I got started, friends suggested I join One Model Place. I have met a lot of great people on OMP who have helped and supported me as a photographer. My hope is that someday, I will be as good as the many people that have helped me to get to where I am today."

Beebe likes shooting in all styles, and describes his process as "slow but sure."

"My photo shoots have all been fun experiences. The models I have worked with on OMP have been great, and I have worked alongside some amazing photographers as well."

Shooting from a wheelchair does present its share of challenges for the photographer.

"I only have the use of my right arm and right leg. So it is challenging not being able to stand and get to the right height to shoot sometimes."

His plans for 2009 are to keep shooting as much as possible. In the meantime, Beebe has the following advice do you have for other photographers just starting out.

"Always be respectful. Treat models with respect and get along with others because there is too much drama and fighting in this business."
