Conclusion:
In general, Warren prefers Silverfast to Photoshop. He explains, "There are areas in Photoshop where I have to go
into five different control boxes, one at a time, to access what Silverfast puts in one control box."
His most controversial technique - some would say his "hidden secret" - is the deliberate oversharpening of an
image in Silverfast, combined with using Photoshop to eliminate the sharpening artifacts. "This is something everyone
argues with me about."
He edits images larger than their eventual format: in our example, 1084 dpi, 1449 x 937 pixels.
They will eventually be published at 1280 x 1024, 1024 x 768, and 800 x 600. Oversharpening at a higher pixel
count, he argues, allows you to reduce the image and still retain the sharpness while the anti-aliasing function in
the Photoshop reduction removes the artifacts of oversharpening. "Everyone tells me it doesn't do any good to sharpen
before you size reduce. I disagree."
Warren processes several hundred images from Suze per week. He estimates that, over the past
five years, he has edited over 100,000 of her photographs. He is currently doing color correction
for Suze's videos as well as her stills.
Although he has a non-compete agreement with Suze, he also does color-correction for other companies not in the erotic
glamour industry. Warren can be reached at (619) 434-4592 or by email: ws.gold@cox.net
