My name is Travon Markies Bracey and I am an Independent Model, Award-Winning Amateur Photographer, Published Writer/Poet, Award-Winning Humanitarian and an Activist. Every since I was child, I had this big imagination, full of dreams, spirituality, and creativity. But, as I got older, I thought that side of me disappeared. But, I realize that side is still with me and I know that I can take my life to another level.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. When I was 9 years old, began teaching myself how to a variety of things such as understanding the elements of African American History, the development of photography, fashion, writing, and singing. As, I got older, I realized that my imaginations became a reality to my life and all of my dreams came true.
In my writing career, 2 of my poems were published into a poetry book that is affiliated with the Library of Congress. I have also been published multiple times in the VOX Teen Communications Newspaper, here in Atlanta, a newspaper created by teens for teens. I have also been recognized for my poetry writings internationally on a blogging website from Poland, France, Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom. Lately, I have been writing a poetry book and continue to share my writings to people across the globe.
I started doing photography as a hobby at the age of 6. I would always take pictures of things that had an interest to me. As I became older, I started to take my photography more seriously. In January 2011, I established my small photography business entitled AfroAmeri & Pro-Hogany Photography. Since then, my photography was published, use for promotional purposes, and use for Special Events.
I began my humanitarian/activism work at the age of 14. I begun my own non-profit organization called The Environmental Green Project but today the purpose of the non-profit organization and the name was changed to The Travon Bracey Foundation. I have humanitarian work for March of Dimes, Breast Cancer Awareness, ADHD children, MusicForRain Foundation, Hurricane Katrina Victims, Trees Atlanta, Cross Cultural Solutions, VOX Teen Communications, and much more. I have done my activism work in Youth Pride, LGBT community, The Barack Obama Campaign, Troy Davis Situation, NAACP Youth Council, Students Against Destructive Decision, StudentsFirst (Public Education) and Juvenile Justice.
**My Modeling Career**
I found an interest in modeling when I was at the age of 13. My aunt and I were invited to a fashion show in Atlanta. Talking to the models and seeing the thrill of them being on stage and modeling on the runway became a strong interest to me. I also started looking at the VOGUE Magazine and became studying portrait modeling that way. I started doing Yoga so that way I could learn how to do poses that I were difficult for me to do. Every since then, I’ve been doing my own pictures and everything, but it was time for me to take my modeling to another level.
**Type of Modeling I Do**
-Semi-Nude (Doing this when I turn 18)
-Runway (Currently, I am in training)
-Underwater (Teaching myself how to do this)
-Body Paint (Starting This At The Age Of 18)
**NO NUDE MODELING**
I WILL NOT DO NUDE MODELING UNLESS IT IS FOR ARTISTIC PURPOSES ONLY. IT ALSO DEPENDS ON THE AMOUNT OF PAY!
Currently, I will accept doing TFP, test shots, and paid assignments. It also depends on what the assignment is. I want to be able to build my modeling portfolio.
**Connecting With Others**
I am also looking for photographers that I can connect with to get them to know a better view of what I am looking for when it comes to portrait modeling. For models, I would like to connect with a model to teach me some steps & skills in modeling. If offered, I would like to do internship in modeling and also have a model with more experience to be mentor and guide me through the steps of modeling and teaches me the acknowledgement of the modeling industry.
