General Information
"Wisdom comes with winters" Oscar Wilde, A Florentine Tragedy Well ... Aspiring but Beginner Photographer with the occasional credit (poetry book cover, website design), Amateur Film-maker with big dreams, Illustrator and Designer with a few online scores, and mostly Musician, Songwriter and Writer with some kind of Track Record ... always looking to weave more than one of these strands together - Words and Pictures , Music and Film , Theatre and Image , Sounds and Words , Form and Meaning . Not always technically perfect, but at least artistically committed, open-minded and intense, Under No Illusions but with the intent of creating Beautiful Illusions . Old-School Aesthetics with New Contexts, an Old Dog with a few New Tricks. And ... Currently learning Spanish, writing songs, looking for Flamenco dancers to film and faces to photograph, stalled at Chapter 2 of the novel for now, but moving ahead with making self-indulgent cinematic music that's somehow more personal and authentic, looking for singers and collaborators to take it out 'live in London', and working for charity. Recently and joyfully upgraded - or should that be 'retro-fitted' - with analog 35mm SLR kit, and about to buy a new camcorder to go with the Big Ideas. So ... Anything can happen. If you believe you will succeed, or fear that you will fail - either way you will be right. Interested? TFCD PHOTOGRAPHY - F requently Q uestioned A nswers Always looking for the following: TFCD models interested in dance, fine art, classical figure shapes, stillness and intensity in portraiture, sensuality in natural light, and good quality Spanish coffee. * For TFCD I will offer credits, links and contact details on any websites/materials where images are used. In addition, I will provide written references for you on website/s and on request. * As well as e-mails, I request that you please telephone some point in advance to confirm your attendance on any TFCD shoots. I am happy to pick up and drop off at the nearest transport points on the day, which are only a few minutes away, and guaranteed free parking is available. A chaperone/friend is always welcome - please be aware that I either work on location or in a non-commercial home studio. * I provide a Model Release (for you to sign) and Copyright Licence (for me to sign), in advance of any project. * I do not provide a Make Up Artist or any clothing accessories or costumes, so please bring whatever you think will you need. * In advance of any TFCD shoot I like to discuss ideas as a guideline for us to experiment with; in addition, if you have ideas or poses you want to work on I am very open to do that too. Am happy to answer any questions. Please note I will NEVER ask or expect you do anything that has not been clearly discussed in writing before the session, and would never want any model to do anything they feel uncomfortable with. I am not interested in shooting any form of porn, page 3, bondage, couples of any kind, suicide chic, zombies etc. etc. :). * I do not work with anyone under 18, and if in doubt I will ask for proof of age.* Within a week or two of the shoot I will provide an e-mail containing, or web access to, proof images for your review, and you can then receive selected images at both ready-for-web quality (jpegs) and ready-to-print quality (hi-res), These will be the best images of each look/shot. Please note its not possible to give you pictures straight after the shoot as time is required to work on the images. I will edit the best and make a selection from those. * Remember that just like models, a photographer is judged on the quality of the image, so I would not release or publicise bad pictures. Realistically, however many shots are taken during a session, there will only ever be a handful that are the best of that shoot. If you have any questions just ask!On Art Some of my favourite musings by Oscar Wilde , which perhaps apply precisely to photography ...* "The telling of beautiful untrue things is the proper aim of art." The Decay Of Lying * "Beauty has as many meanings as man has moods. Beauty is the symbol of symbols. Beauty reveals everything because it expresses nothing. When it shows us itself it shows us the whole fiery-coloured world." The Critic as Artist * Gerald: "It is very difficult to understand women, is it not?" Illingworth: "You should never try to understand them. Women are pictures . Men are problems". A Woman Of No Importance
