     General Information 
    My name is Alan Kolc. When I trained as a painter at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the curriculum consisted of drawing, painting, and sculpting the nude figure six hours a day, five days a week. The figure will probably always stand as the cornerstone of my aesthetic sensibilities.

    I have become enchanted with the sense of presence a figure can create. How light is shaped by the contours and textures fascinates me. I endeavor to communicate the wonder I feel when I am in the presence of this larger than life phenomena. For the last several years, I’ve worked at abstracting the figure, becoming more and more fascinated with closer and closer details.

    I am deeply grateful to the models with whom I've worked; their talent and beauty has been a priceless resource. I thrive on the collaborative process, the symbiosis of artist and model. The comfort and well being of my models is very important to me, and I do everything possible to ensure the well being of my models.

    I am a professional photographer, in business for many years, and I maintain high professional standards. I DO NOT cancel appointments without notice. Cancellations happen only in emergencies. My studio is clean and safe, and I welcome escorts to shoots if it enhances the feeling of security. I am also happy to help with portfolios. I do headshots for models when needed, and I'll do other shots as part of a trade of time for time. I can provide either TFP/TFCD or paid assignments.
