First of let me say, i do have all those other profiles too, to which i mostly use Under the account name ross_nathan_phillips.
All my recommendations are on there as well as all the models i have worked with. I am always happy to talk about those shoots and the models in question, they where truly amazing, and i recommend them all.
My origin story is pretty simple really, I had a pretty eccentric, and weird school life which led to a rather confused uni student who had no idea where he was going and for a long time I believed that I was simply bored and I just had to take on more work. I was sadly mistaken, I just hadn’t found a passion or creative outlet yet. I have always studied in the creative mediums and still tend to experiment a lot, but back then I was studying a couple different forms of design and I had bought a camera to capture raw footage for latter development. Then I was asked to take some photos of a friend, who wanted to start a modelling portfolio. Why she asked me, I have no idea, I can only assume it was because I was the only one she new who wouldn’t be doing anything else. Till then, I had simply been a uni student who tended to spend a lot of time thinking up out of the box ideas, and then trying to find a financial gain to them. But it was after this trial that I discovered how much I loved the creative format and the vast possibilities of the medium and became hooked. I still study, and shoot at the same time, and in this I have found a very comfortable balance, although I doubt this equilibrium will last forever, as I tend to feel a need to mix it up quite frequently.
Mostly in the past it has all been about creating pieces of art, but recently i have been asked to do promotional work and im currently testing out different ideas for that field. Although it should be noted that i like working with creative models who bring more to the table then just a pretty face. i feel a good photographer should be a good producer and a good model should be a good creative director. Therefore i like to collaborate with my muses, as i find it helps develop a concept and produce a truly artist piece. I am always willing to listen to ideas, and i encourage models to ask me anything.
Most recently, my photography has begun to adapt to my new location and situation by evolving into bigger things. I am no longer doing one on one shoots unless requested, and even then a good concept is essential. As I have been putting alot of work into developing strong concepts, which require abit of planning and involvement by models as well as other creative sources. This has intern lead to bigger production, which is where my passion lies at the moment.
Crazy ideas are always welcome, the quirkier the better.
