Well ...

Aspiring but Beginner Photographer with the occasional credit (poetry book cover, website design), Amateur Film-maker with big dreams, Illustrator and Designer with a few online scores, and mostly Musician, Songwriter and Writer with some kind of Track Record ... always looking to weave more than one of these strands together - Words and Pictures, Music and Film, Theatre and Image, Sounds and Words, Form and Meaning. Not always technically perfect, but at least artistically committed, open-minded and intense, Under No Illusions but with the intent of creating Beautiful Illusions. Old-School Aesthetics with New Contexts, an Old Dog with a few New Tricks.

And ...

Currently learning Spanish, writing songs, looking for Flamenco dancers to film and faces to photograph, stalled at Chapter 2 of the novel for now, but moving ahead with making self-indulgent cinematic music that's somehow more personal and authentic, looking for singers and collaborators to take it out 'live in London', and working for charity. Recently and joyfully upgraded - or should that be 'retro-fitted'- with analog 35mm SLR kit, and about to buy a new camcorder to go with the Big Ideas.

So ...

Anything can happen. If you believe you will succeed, or fear that you will fail - either way you will be right.

Information for Models / Frequently Questioned Answers

I am happy to be approached by models seeking paid work, but ask that in your communication you do include details of your hourly and session rates, travel and any other expenses, and are clear about levels. I will keep all this information confidential. Please NO one-liners saying "im intrestid wd lk 2 wk with u, chek out my profile" or "fancy a shoot, contact me for rates". You can also sometimes find me online at the PS or occasionally NM forums.

And always looking for the following: TFCD models aged 18 and above interested in dance, fine art, classical figure shapes, stillness and intensity in portraiture, sensuality in natural light, and good quality Spanish coffee.

I am a musician first and foremost. Photography is a non-commercial sideline that I enjoy and appreciate, but I approach all aspects of photography in a highly professional and committed way, from communications, managing the shoot, paperwork, through to production of final images.

::For TFCD I will offer credits, links and contact details on any websites/materials where images are used. In addition, I will provide written references for you on website/s and on request.

::I shoot in old-school 35mm film with an old-school 35mm SLR. My camera is almost certain to be older than you and I am much older than my camera. It also means we can't see or take away pictures on the day.

::I do like active communications by e-mail and telephone before the shoot. I am happy to pick up and drop off at the nearest transport point on the day, and cover reasonable travel expenses.

::A chaperone/friend is always welcome - note I either work on location or in a non-commercial home studio. Please be aware also it is a totally non-smoking house and garden.

::I provide a Model Release (for you to sign) and Copyright Licence (for me to sign), in advance of any project. You can use the pictures for any non-commercial purpose you like, and under the Copyright License you don't have to credit me. I am not marketing or selling my pictures at present so the model release just gives me protection and artistic control, but I'm always happy to discuss and negotiate before the shoot.

::All TFCD pictures are watermarked in the style of the pictures in this profile. I ask that there is no re-cropping or editing of final TFCD images apart from (a) watermark can be removed for prints etc. (b) images can be re-sized, bordered or the existing border removed.

::If you have ideas or poses you want to work on I am very open to do that too. Am happy to try things, and to answer any questions at all times.

::TFCD might include fashion, portraits, lingerie, swimwear and at most implied, whichever you are comfortable with. TFCD with me will NEVER include topless, nude, adult, porn, page 3, fetish, groups or couples, UK/US/Continental etc. I will NEVER expect you to shoot anything that has not been agreed beforehand or you are not comfortable with on the day.

::I do not provide any clothing accessories or costumes, so please bring whatever you think will you need. I am looking at bringing in Make Up Artists on some shoots, but you may have to do your own.

::Within a week or two of the shoot (or before) I will start sending you images for review, and will then provide selected images at both ready-for-web quality (jpegs) and ready-to-print quality (hi-res), either on CD or for download (the best images of each look/shot), whichever is most convenient.

::IMPORTANT : Please note it is NOT possible to give you TFCD pictures straight after the shoot or even within a few days. A realistic timescale for first receipt of some preview images is 2 weeks, and I will feed them through as I complete them thereafter. I have other time commitments, and I give each image careful attention and as much time is needed.

::I will select the best images and edit them. Realistically, however many shots are taken during a session, there will only ever be a handful that are “the best” of that shoot. A handful = 10 or less. I can share other unedited images with you as long as they are not for public use. If you happen to really like one or two of those, let me know and I will do what I can with them.
