Modeling in Focus

Chapter 41

OMP Pro-File: Liz Ashley Takes Her Modeling Career On the Road
by Elias AllStar OMP Member #10270

Liz Ashley OMP Model #39811 is one of the most recognizable members of One Model Place. The Houston, Texas native has been modeling for seven years, and her lithe form and expressive posing definitely leave a lasting impression.

Liz says she has always been a very creative person, ever since she started drawing and painting at a young age. (She still takes private art instruction today.) At age 14, she signed with a local agency, doing commercial modeling and runway. However, she chose to focus on school and modeling fell by the wayside. Luckily, the art gods would not let such a muse go easily.

Four years later she was approached to model again and began getting connected to the online modeling world via One Model Place.
"OMP helped me to become visible on a global level and communicate with people from all over the world. This helped open doors for me in ways I cannot describe. Some of these people I am friends with to this day, and I would not have met them without One Model Place."
This road warrior travels about three weeks out of each month.
"The best place I have ever traveled to for work was Australia. I left a piece of myself there. I really miss it. The rainforests, the waterfalls, the cockatoos flying in the middle of the city. It was very surreal. The people are amazing there, too."
Many of her images are artistic nudes, and they are stunning. Liz describes the challenges and rewards of being a nude model.
"The challenges are, of course, often only having your body and your expression to make the photo interesting or intriguing. It is a very hard thing to accomplish sometimes. The rewards are constant to be able to travel worldwide shooting with people from ALL walks of life, always meeting people, and every time you go somewhere new something within you changes. You grow as a person. The images in the email box are rewards in themselves. But you should hear the stories I have to tell... Oh, the stories!"
"Shut Up and Model!" fans might remember Liz from an early incarnation of OMP’s reality show. Looking forward, she hopes to use modeling as a vessel to see the world.
"I cherish my friendships with those I have met, and hope to keep life-long friendships and create beautiful images."
Here is some advice Liz wants to pass along for models just starting out.
"When you are new, you have to realize that you have to work your way up. Have patience. Build your book by working with photographers with names or talent. And understand that modeling is like going to the gym, a lot of it is all about showing up. Never compromise your beliefs and comfort level. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Also, make sure that if you are going to model nude, that it’s really what you want to do. Because you can never take it back."
