Abby M. (Model #70212) only started modeling a few years ago, but you would never know it from the list of credits she has amassed over that time frame.
Here's how she initially got into modeling: "An amateur photographer saw me at the post office and took pictures of me. I posted some of them online, and then Craig Huey (OMP Member #3952) contacted me to do a shoot. My very first professional photo shoot was with Craig in late Jan. 2004."
Although she seems like a natural, it took Abby a little while to get comfortable in front of the camera during her early photo shoots. "I was a bit heavier the first time I shot. I have lost about 45 pounds since then, so I feel a lot more comfortable with my body and with shooting swimsuit and lingerie styles. I feel more confident now, and it seems to me like I pose better as well."
You may have seen Abby in the pages of "FHM," "Stuff," "Makes and Models," "Lowrider," and "Teeze" magazines. She also stops traffic at public events such as Hot Import Nights. Abby relates, "Making appearances at Hot Import Nights has actually given me a lot of exposure. They promote their models well, and have introduced me to the import scene."
Between magazine shoots and appearances at HIN events, she also finds time to shoot for calendars and catalogs. "I am working on calendars and magazines. Speaking from my experience, catalogs take so long to shoot. One time I worked on a lingerie catalog in Long Island, and it took all day and all night to shoot. I must have tried on 40 outfits."
Abby is used to having many outfits to choose from on assignments – in fact, she confesses that she usually brings "her whole closet" to photo shoots. Once she arrives on set, she feels at home right away. There are a few situations she really looks forward to, however. "I love using the wind machine! I like the fan blowing in my hair, it looks so cool. Also, I like the wet look shoots. So sexy!"
Ironically, this Florida resident does very little shooting in her home state. "I travel a lot, so I really don't work much in Florida. When I am home, I try to relax and rest before my next trip."
Here are a few words of wisdom from the talented model. "Some advice I have for new and aspiring models out there is to have fun with everything that you do and make sure you do everything in a tasteful manner. It is possible to be sexy and classy at the same time! Always trust your instinct on everything you do in life. Also, make sure you always stay prompt and professional in this industry, because it is not always about the looks in modeling -- your overall attitude with photographers and co-workers is more important."
Abby points out that she owes a lot of her success to OneModelPlace. "OMP has given me the most exposure. They are responsible for all the beautiful images I have, and for linking me to the best photographers that are out there. I LOVE OMP!"
