Just 2 Tease and its designer Tera have some amazing designs on her OneModelPlace.com page (OMP Member #90929)
She has also made quite an impression in front of the camera, as a model. But she will always be a designer first.
"I am not really a model… Well, I guess if I am getting my picture taken, I am technically a model
-- which makes almost everyone a model. I am just a silly girl who thought she was kind of pretty
and I wanted some sexy pictures to prove it."
Tera’s foray into fashion design came as a result of frustration over finding outfits for herself.
"I got started designing out of despair. I could never find what I want. Almost everything out
there is made of cheap fabric or has a bad cut, and most of it is not flattering. Actually,
I am a frustrated consumer, not a fashion designer, per se -- unless you consider anyone who makes clothes a fashion designer.
It’s not my dream, it’s just my obsessive need".

She does not seem to prefer one field over the other.
"I think I like both. I like to look hot in photos and in real life. And I really like when other women wear my designs
and love them. It’s a bonding experience."
One thing is certain – Tera’s modeling experience does enhance her designing skills.
Tera has also learned a lot about the practicality of her outfits from seeing other models wear
them and wearing them herself.
"I think it is helpful to see how designs look in the context of a two-dimensional photo,
but it has been even more informative to see my designs fit on other women’s bodies and also to actually wear my designs
out for the night. You don’t really know how a design functions until you try to wear it out into the real world.
Sitting in a chair, dancing, walking -- you need to try the design out. You need to find out how it makes you feel
when a hot guy looks at you or another hot girl walks by. Somehow that seems to affect my subconscious feeling about
what I‘m wearing.
"I can try something on endlessly and look in the mirror all night, even think I like it,
but then when I wear it in a club, either I instantly hate it or love it. Sometimes
it just takes wearing it in a real setting. Maybe because then you are stuck in the outfit.
You’ve made a commitment to wear it, and it’s sink or swim.
Her work as a designer has also informed her modeling.
"I don’t know if designing itself has given me a new awareness as a model,
but trying to create a catalog of my designs has. I realize now how difficult it is to pose in
just the right way to show off the outfit completely and still look sexy or interesting.
Designing and trying to put together a visual catalog of my work has given me a new appreciation
for how hard modeling can be and what a great asset a good model really is. I need someone who understands my goals,
knows how to keep the garment looking good, and can still project an attitude or feeling with complete freedom and ease.
This is even more true for photographers -- if the photographer can be the go-between to keep the model focused
and understand the designer's needs, which makes all the difference. The photographer is really the director
or at least can make life a lot easier for the designer."

Tera recently opted to spend more time working behind-the-scenes.
"I decided that what I really wanted to focus on was designing. I have become a little more practical
and realistic about my life goals… In reality, I have too many of them."
She also encourages other models who are interested in creating outfits to pursue their designing ambitions.
Consumers can purchase her clothing directly from her website called teratease.com.
"I will also be selling in local boutiques……and mailing out catalogs."
Tera suggests that her designs would make excellent gifts, especially for romantic occasions.
"Definitely! Who can resist and girl in a sexy outfit that is easily removable?"
She provides the following advice for models.
"Listen, be aware, and don’t let a photographer or anyone ever talk you into or persuade you into doing anything you are hesitant to do. Trust your gut feelings."
She offers equally helpful words of inspiration to fellow designers.
"Think about realistic bodies types and try to function in the real world. And make your designs cool, hot, sexy,
and comfortable. I wouldn’t be designing if I had found what I was looking for out there in the stores
-- I would be shopping!"
