SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: OneModelPlace.com & iStudio.com Acquisition

In May 2010, we proudly announced that OneModelPlace.com acquired iStudio.com. Both sites will continue to serve our members, and we have some exciting improvements coming up in the next few months.

While OneModelPlace.com is focused on models and photographers, iStudio.com expands to other talents such as actors, singers, choreographers, composers, and models that want to branch into the film industry. Aside from images, you can also present video and music on iStudio.com.

1. Why should I be on both OneModelPlace.com and iStudio.com?
The answer is simple: the more exposure you get, the more jobs you will land. Both sites have the capability of bringing you paid offers and photo shoot assignments by contacting members and responding to casting calls.

2. What does the acquisition of iStudio.com mean for OneModelPlace.com members?
As OMP members, you can continue to expect the high quality of service that you have received in the past. In addition, we will be working over the next several months to set up a free profile for you on iStudio, giving you additional exposure and job opportunities.

3. What does the acquisition by OneModelPlace.com mean for iStudio.com members?
iStudio.com will continue to provide you with a wide range of promotional tool and features. Along with modeling and photography, iStudio is gearing up to become more focused on acting, singing and performing artists, allowing them the chance to promote themselves online.

4. Will iStudio.com remain free?
Yes, iStudio.com will remain free.

5. Will iStudio.com members be able to get a membership on OneModelPlace.com?
If you are an iStudio model, you are entitled to a free Bronze membership on OMP, which will allow you to post 21 images on your portfolio. If you are an iStudio photographer or other member, you can get started on OMP with a Bronze membership for an annual $15 charge. All members of OMP are able to move up to higher memberships by clicking on the UPGRADE button at the top of the main home page. Note: In some instances, photographers and other members may be offered a complimentary membership upgrade on a case-by-case basis. You can submit your new OneModelPlace.com profile link for consideration via email at newseditor@onemodelplace.com -- please write "iStudio Member Submission" in the subject line.

6. Will OMP members automatically be signed up on iStudio.com?
Yes, this will happen over the course of the next few months.

7. Should I update both sites often?
Members are encouraged to update their accounts on both OneModelPlace.com and iStudio.com regularly, not only to keep their information and images current but to promote themselves to other members as well.

8. Should I upload the same photos on both sites?
You can upload the same images to both sites, but choosing to upload different photos will give your portfolios greater variety and open you up to more work offers.

Image Size and Type Recommendations

Image Size

Image Sizes for Web Delivery should be less than 50k (50,000 bytes) per image, with a recommended size of 35k (35,000bytes). This is the optimal delivery size for most full sized images. Images should ideally be no larger than 400x600 pixels portrait or 600x400 pixels landscape. Smaller widths are recommended for landscape orientations.

Images should be uploaded only in 72dpi. Images that are uploaded in 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch) will be approx 4 times larger in a browser than in your image editing application.

To avoid you're images being resized, displayed in-properly or deleted, we suggest that you following these guidelines:

NEW IMAGE UPLOAD GUIDELINES

Silver Members
(81 images maximum)
Gold Members
(151 images maximum)

Images that are out of specification in either size or dimension will be resized. We would recommend that you save your images as JPEG images (.jpg) and keep them under the size indicated for your membership level.

Content Guidelines
When uploading images please remember that OneModelPlace.com is a community of young teens as well as adults and as such ALL Adult oriented content (hustler style, or sexually explicit images, images showing genitalia, images involving sexual instruments, scenes depicting sex or extreme subjects etc.), are just not appropriate on the site and you should not attempt to upload them.

Nudity (glamour style etc.) and artistic nudity are wonderful art forms - they have and always will be very welcome on this site - they often show a models or photographers range and interest and are often a deciding factor in a photographers decision to work with a model or not, and visa versa. So it's fine to have nude images as part of a portfolio.

Remember - Please RATE your images appropriately - ALL images involving ANY form of nudity or see-through should ALWAYS be rated R. Light Fetish and Bondage images are subject to approval, and must also ALWAYS be rated R.

Since, content of an adult or sexually explicit nature is not welcome or appropriate on this site several things will occur if attempts are made to upload inappropriate images. The images will be deleted, the profile may be suspended or disabled, and access to upload images will be removed.
If you have any questions regarding what is appropriate or not send an email - kevyn@onemodelplace.com

Image Type
It is highly recommended that you upload jpeg images (.JPG files). Other file formats are generally much larger for the same image size because they do not employ any compression to the image. Two file formats that are not recommended are GIF Files and BMP files (the later is a windows native format and many Microsoft programs save this format as a default).
Images that are oversized will be resized by the Site Administrators. This often means that .gif and .bmp files end up very small looking because to reach the recommended file size the image will need far more shrinking than a .jpg file would.

Image Review
All images on OneModelPlace.com are reviewed by the Site Administrators. Please make sure that you read the image upload guidelines carefully, and pay particular attention to the image restrictions regarding appropriate content.

How to get the most from your profile on the site?

Tip 1 - This may seem obvious, but a portfolio with images in general attracts more attention than those not having images. If you have a profile on the site that does not have images chances are that will be more difficult for either the model looking for a photographer, or the photographer or agent looking for a model, to actually make any kind of qualitative judgment to contact you and in the vast majority of cases they won't. In almost every case the profiles with images are viewed 5 to 10 times more often than profiles without images. In short images sell your ability and your art to members who may want to work with you. Additionally, remember to display your versatility in your profile, a good idea is to add images that reflect the kind of work you have done and the kind of work you are looking for.

Tip 2 - Actively Market yourself to other members on the site. While it is true that with the right images often work will find you, however Modeling and Photography is all about selling and marketing your abilities and skills. Actively use the site to seek out other members you might like to work with.

Tip 3 - Remember to keep your profile and especially your email address up-to date. If inquiries are sent and the email address is no longer working the profile will likely be deleted (we make every attempt to contact the member via other web sites etc. before doing this). It is very important that the information is up-to date, since that again is one of your best marketing tools on the site.

Tip 4 - Promote travel. When you are traveling to different locations and wish to work with other members on your travels, publish the schedule and then follow-up with members who look like potential fits for your work style. Depending upon your membership level you can place the following number of concurrent notices: Bronze - 0, Silver - 2, Gold - 5, Platinum & Platinum+ - 10

Tip 5 - Try to reply to every professional work inquiry. If you are not interested in the work offered, at the very least reply with a decline and thank you. It is easy to get a bad reputation by ignoring emails.

OMP & iStudio Integration

1. Why did OneModelPlace.com set up a second account for me at iStudio.com?
Since OneModelPlace.com recently acquired iStudio.com, both websites have been working hard to integrate their members in order to strengthen their online presence. To make it easier for you, we took care of the transition between sites. Simplifying matters even more is the fact that your login details are the same for both sites, so you can use your username and password from OMP on iStudio as well.

2. What are the advantages of having a second account on iStudio.com?
The main advantage to having a second portfolio on iStudio is it doubles your exposure on the Internet. Everyone also receives 100 free images on iStudio, so it allows you to expand your portfolio online no matter what membership level you are at on OMP. And while both sites offer you a professional presence online, iStudio also has social networking tools that allow you to promote yourself to your fellow models and members.

3. Will there be other changes to iStudio.com and OneModelPlace.com in the future?
Yes, we are constantly striving to update and improve both websites so that you have the most efficient self-promoting tools at your disposal. Upcoming changes include importing of photographer accounts to iStudio, full synchronization of profiles, more casting calls, improved interface, and a new section of Community Forums on iStudio.

4. What if I don't want to be in iStudio.com?
If you do not want to continue your portfolio on iStudio, please email us at newseditor@onemodelplace.com and we will be happy to take down your iStudio account.
