Subject: Long Distance tips for Amtrack Train Travelers.......    -    » Comment/Reply (click here to upgrade)
I hate to fly. I almost crashed on a commercial airflight above San Francisco, I have flown since- but I avoid it at all costs. I don't like the feeling of crashing from the sky inside a 30 ton cigar tube.
Statistically flying is the safest form of travel..... But I hate it!
Family matters take me down South every summer. I usually go to Pensacola Florida and then on to Miami.
So I take Amtrack down the East Coast to Florida. (It takes 24-30 hours) and costs about $120.

If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of having to take Amtrack for this length of time here are a few tips:

1) Bring a sweater or sweatshirt (even in summertime) the Air Conditioning is a killer.
2) If you smoke- be nice (VERY NICE) to all the conductors on the train. There is no smoking on the train allowed. But if you are nice to the conductors they will let you off at key stations and allow you to smoke there while they are loading on new passengers. But you *must* be nice!
3) Avoid the food in the resturant car (Unless you want to make a trip down "Hershey Highway")
4) If you drink- bring your own (You will not regret it)
5) Befiriend anyone that is attractive that's on the train, It makes the trip more amusing, and can pay off "down the line" (More about this later)
6) If you are traveling overnight- bring a blanket of some kind. It helps you sleep better in the seat and blocks annoying lights and the sun in the morning.
7) bring several good books or a laptop computer as well as a cell phone. All of these items greatly help.

Trips like these make me realise what a vast and beautifull country the USA is. Enjoy the scenery it's usually beautifull.
All aboard!

I recently did a shoot with a model I would consider to be the "Naughty Librarian" type. I just love naughty librarians!
She had the right look but She didn't have any glasses, So.........
I bought her some----> Just to complete the "Look".
By the time we were finishing shooting, the books were flying!
It was a great shoot!
:-)

Subject: Uploaded a Manufacture music video up onto my OMP Listing.    -    » Comment/Reply (click here to upgrade)
I used to be in a cutting edge semi industrial electronic video band in the late 1980s called Manufacture. We really began as a soundtrack company and what we did always was an experiment. We used to perform live using huge video screens and the audiences that came really dug it. Eventually we sort of turned into a band, although we never were meant to be. We opened up for the band Ministry and totally blew everyone's mind including Ministry frontman Alain Jourgenson. We were then signed to Nettwerk in Vancouver BC, Canada and released 2 full albums and about fifteen 12 inch dance singles. We never went huge but we did chart quite a number of times and got a significant amout of play particularly in the danceclubs and on college and indy music radio. We were always bigger in Europe than in North America , for some reason we never could understand why. We always considered what we were doing in Manufacture to be an experiment and we were glad we had a record company that supported us at the time. I have no regrets. I loved the videos I directed for the band.

Video was a significant part of the band and we used to perform live with large video screens projecting all sorts of stuff from Nazi Propaganda films to news clips to videos I used to direct and edit.
We were sort of a video art band I guess.

Because of my background in Film and Video I am totally addicted to youtube. It is the website I have been predicting for close to 10 years now. Because anyone can run thier own equivalant of a small TV station. It is awesome. No longer does the public have to be forced to watch the crap the networks and cable companies feed us. Now anyone can Broadcast! And now everyone is....... It is awesome!

So I decided to post Manufactures' second music video on youtube : "As the End Draws Near" is also here on OMP. Its so old at this point it's almost new. Sarah MacLachlan sang the lead vocals. Enjoy!

I have a 10 page fashion photo story and cover coming out in Buckle Magazine in September! Buckle Magazine is new: Sort of an American Version of Skin II or Marquis magazine.
The model I worked with was Scar 13.
Scar 13 is one of the best! She always blows my mind whenever we shoot. I love models that are good "MindBlowers"! (They always inspire me to get great shots) You can see some of the shots in my TearSheets section of my OMP listing.

Subject: Dave TREE is a living Legend    -    » Comment/Reply (click here to upgrade)
I had a great couple of nights hanging with artist (and good friend) Dave Tree. Dave came down to NYC for his first solo art show. It was a great night and Dave's artwork rocked the house. The following day we got together for an informal photoshoot. Dave has a line of men's underwear that he silkscreens political art on. We were supposed to shoot his designs but somehow we never did. I think it was because we were shooting during a heat wave and it was 100 degrees out. It was so hot we were almost passing out and my camera was soaked from the sweat pouring off my head. We could not think.

Dave was the lead singer for the legendary politically charged environmental hard-core band TREE . That band was one of the most awesome bands ever to come out of the Boston Rock scene. Their songs and shows were incredible. TREE contributed many a song to the soundtracks of the award winning "Dogs of Winter" sports films I used to edit for director Joe Dukeman.

Dave currently is promoting his artwork and serves as lead singer for his newest band SUPERPOWER. I consider this man a living legend.

 My Birth Information
May Birth Stone - Emerald (success in love)
Emerald is a deep green stone, natural emeralds almost always have visible inclusions, and need special care when setting & cleaning. A natural Emerald without flaws is very rare, and expensive!
This stone has been linked to fertility & the Earth Goddess, is sacred to the Goddess Venus, and was worn by women to ease the pain of childbirth. Emerald is a cousin to the Aqua, both are in the Beryl family of stones.

Birth Flower(s): hawthorn, lily of the valley (The Lily of The Valley means: return of happiness, sweetness, and humility.)
