Porter PCII and Elite photo cases [http://www.portercase.com]
They look like normal hard-shell pilot cases until you notice that the handle is on the wrong side. Why? Because the telescoping handle is hinged at the bottom, allowing the case to fold down and function as a platform for carrying other bags. Available in a standard 22" size or a smaller (Elite series) 18" model, both cases are acceptable for airline carry-on, and both are available with divider or block foam interiors. I never put my cameras in checked baggage, so the Porter case is perfect for me. I wheel it off the plane, pick-up my checked baggage, fold down the Porter case and pile the bags on top. I clip a couple of bungee cords across the stack and off I go. Instant hand truck. I've used one of these for two years now and it is little the worse for wear. A clever and very useful design.
