[ALEX] (Male, 25-35) EXTREMELY MUSCULAR, LIGHT SOUTHERN ACCENT – Ex soldier, now bareknuckle boxer for the local mob. He falls in love with Lily, and would do anything for her. Though not very bright, he is extremely loyal and true to his word. The story is about his transformation into the man he ought to be. (18 days)

[LILY] (Female, 25-35) – Beautiful single mother, who became so after being raped by a classmate in college. She somehow maintains her inner beauty through all the pain she’s experienced. Her impact on Alex is what changes his life. (14 days)

[CHRIS] (Male, 25-45) – Mr. Clarke’s right hand man; he despises Alex. He generally remains calm (in an attempt to be like Mr. Clarke), except when angered. (10 days)

We are looking for a couple of College Aged (18-24) Male Actors/Vocalists for our production. These actors will fill out roles both in the film, and the musical production within the film.

This is a story about a community coming together in the wake of a tragedy. Over the course of the story, these students will come to terms with the tragedy and put aside personal concerns for the benefit of each other. They are guided through the grieving process by their stage manager, Erin who has put all her energy and emotion into a play that will serve as a memorial to the community. As filmmaker’s, we hope to extend this message of inspiration to students and communities.

Auditions are open, but times can be reserved if needed.

Please bring a resume/headshot if you have them.

Please prepare a short monologue or song. Cold reads held at auditions.

Filming will take place in late May and early June.

Nineteen. Handsome. He has boyish charm with an old soul. Was very popular in high school, a frat boy in college. Unintentionally narcissistic, surprisingly compassionate towards his little sister.

Sixteen. Sweet and nerdy, very skinny, attractive. His awkwardness is palpable. Confidant in himself as an intellectual, and this confidence translates into a surprisingly secure sense of self socially.

Woman in her thirties, a delirious woman who craves understanding. Elise has a deep sense of longing while being able to show her insecurity. She has withdrawn from society out of necessity. A frivolous character that can play slapstick physical comedy as a mechanism to hide her deep sadness and self-depreciative demeanor. (Looking for an actor AGE 18 OR YOUNGER who can play 30s.)

A man in his fifties-sixties who plays both a sardonic and irreverent, human-sized, parrot and plays a warm, loving, apologetic father to Elise. This actor must be able to play extravagant and outrageous while being able to rein everything in to play the sensitive and conciliatory father. He should be hilarious and comfortable with committing physically with the characters. He should be strong at creating distinct and varied performances for the two characters the actors must play. On their way home Lucas convinces Sarah to invite Eric over for dinner. And even though Sarah is a hard working, protective single mother, she agrees, since she’s also a sexually active single woman.

When Eric comes over the three people enjoy dinner and all hit it off. Since Lucas wants Eric and his mother to be together, he decides to go out and play with Will. After Lucas leaves Eric tries to get physically closer to Sarah, but when Eric tries to kiss Sarah, she refuses. This turns Eric into a violent rapist. He hits Sarah and forces her to intercourse.

In the meantime Lucas has returned form the playground and have been watching the two adults in the kitchen: He is watching his mother become a rape victim; and the man he admires most in the whole world turn into a violent sex offender.
