Tommy O’s Northern Stars Playhouse is looking for motivated working actors and/or students for it’s upcoming summer season! If you are an artist looking to hone your craft AND make a difference in the community, then this is the job for you!



Founded in 2012, this Hazlehurst, WI - based theater company is one of the few repertory style theaters operating in America. Seven shows produced over 12 - 14 weeks offer a little something for everyone including legendary musicals, classic literary tales, children’s plays, murder mysteries and more!

Wanted:

MALE Leading Man: tenor or high baritone (versatile), good comedic timing, physicality, can play a variety of styles, including children’s theater.



MALE Leading/Supporting: low baritone/bass (versatile), good dramatic skills, physicality, character skills.



FEMALE Supporting/Leading: Soprano/Mezzo (Versatile), good variety of roles, dance ability, can play interesting characters.



FEMALE Supporting/Leading: Alto/Low Mezzo (Versatile), good variety of roles, dance ability, can play interesting characters.





TECHNICAL DIRECTOR: Has a working knowledge of scenic, lighting, sound, wardrobe and stage management. Must be amiable, patient and able to work with non-professionals and students. Preferred skills include lighting design, sound design, resourcefulness, and teaching abilities.



STAGE MANAGER: Organized and reliable. Loves what they do and are motivated by this. Can effectively demonstrate “tough love”. Must be able to work with non-professionals and students.



The supporting roles and chorus roles will be filled by interns, apprentices and volunteers from the surrounding communities and nearby colleges. By performing side by side with professionals, the novice can learn in a more intimate and direct way.



PAY

Compensation will include rehearsal pay of $100/week for (4) weeks prior to opening; $150/week for the remainder of your contract. Bonus pay is available to those who wish to assist in youth and education activities. Room and Board is provided FREE OF CHARGE.

We DO NOT provide a travel stipend at this time.



TIME COMMITMENT

Residents should arrive for rehearsals by Saturday, May 18th 2013. Performances will commence on Wednesday, June 19th and close on Sunday, August 18th. Upon the close of the summer season, rehearsals shall begin for Dracula, which will run (6) performances, September 4th - 8th.
