JEAN VALJEAN- 35 to 45, Tenor, low A to high B. Ages from mid-thirties to early fifties over the course of the play. Intelligent, with strong physical strength and moral strength. Mature and Compassionate. Previous experience with this show is a plus.
JAVERT- 35 to 50s, Baritone A, low F to F sharp. Also ages 17 years from mid-thirties to late forties, early fifties. Rigid and stern character with an ominous presence. Previous experience with this show is a plus.
COSETTE- 18 to 25, Soprano, B flat (below Middle C) to High C with belt, must be able to float a B flat, with more contemporary, less operatic sound. Beautiful, innocent and pure. Previous experience with this show is a plus.
FANTINE- Mezzo-Soprano. 25 - 35, low G flat to E flat. Beautiful woman with an angelic demeanor. Previous experience with this show is a plus.
MARIUS- Lyric 25 -30s, Tenor or High Lyric Baritone low A to high A flat 20s. Romantic hero. Good looking, young leading man. Previous experience with this show is a plus.
EPONINE- 20s, Mezzo Belt (low F sharp to E) Waiflike child of the streets with a yearning heart and toughness.
THENARDIER- 30s-40s, Baritone (C to high G flat). Strong character with comedic ability that can transform to a hidden darker side. Previous experience with this show is a plus.
MADAME THENARDIER- 30s -40s, Alto / Mezzo Belt (low G sharp to D). Strong character similar to Thenardier. Unethical but a survivor. Previous experience with this show is a plus.
ENJORLAS- 20’s -30s, Baritone / tenor (low A to high G). Charismatic with fierce dedication. Intellectually and physically a leader. Previous experience with this show is a plus.
YOUNG GAVROCHE - (approximately 10) A fearless and cocky child, Gavroche imagines himself part of the student rebellion and in fact, he is. His ability to maneuver among the adults without detection helps him bring valuable information to the rebellion.
YOUNG EPONINE - (9 - 11) The daughter of the Thenardiers, Eponine is a spoiled brat who is content to let Young Cosette be treated like a housemaid.
YOUNG COSETTE - (8 - 10) Fantine's daughter, the sweet and innocent Cosette is placed in the care of the abusive Thenardiers, until she is rescued by Valjean. She sings "Castle on a Cloud," and dreams of being in a safe and loving place.
FEMALE ENSEMBLE – Amazing contemporary Broadway singers with pop sensibility. Must be able to convey passion through song. Age to play Early 20s-E40s. Ensemble. Previous experience with this show is a plus.

ALL CHARACTERS, EXCEPT JAVERT AND VALJEAN, WILL PLAY MULTIPLE ROLES. We will not be using British, Cockney or French accents in this production. Anyone auditioning who is not a child should either sing a selection from Les Miz that is sung by the character they hope to portray, or if auditioning for ensemble sing a short song from the show, or in the style of the show, that clearly demonstrates a wide range, and a powerful instrument. No contemporary pop songs, no Rogers and Hammerstein, Rogers and Hart, Lerner and Lowe etc, and no "comic" songs (unless auditioning for Thenardiers...in which case will still need a big showy vocal song as well since they'll double as ensemble throughout). All songs should be from the contemporary "pop opera"musical theatre canon...Les Miz, Phantom, Aspects of Love, Miss Saigon, Jesus Christ Superstar, Little Women, etc. The emphasis needs to be on presenting their selection with clear, bold acting choices and powerful vocals.

The time of the action is "an average day in the life of Charlie Brown." It really is just that, a day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine's Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends (both human and non-human) and strung together on the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening. The show features the classic song Happiness, as well as a contemporary score highlighting the talents of the six-member cast.
All actors should be in their 20s, give or take. Vocal ranges are listed below. Though not required, if you play an instrument, please make it known at your audition. Same with anyone who is an expert in-line or roller skater.
CHARLIE BROWN (male – low Bb to high F) a lovable underdog, who wonders, “When do the good things start?” Charlie Brown is tenaciously optimistic, appealing and ultimately the most self-aware of the gang.
SALLY BROWN (female - low B to high Ab) The youngest character in the gang, Sally is self-involved and self-aware. Sharp, clean comedienne.
LUCY VAN PELT (female – low G to high F) A bit of a bully, Lucy is a shrewd assessor of peoples’ weakness, and can’t help herself by pointing them out. Sporting a Queen complex, she may also be a pathological liar.
SCHROEDER (male – low Bb to high Ab) Very serious about his art, Schroeder is very focused on his piano playing, and on celebrating all things Beethoven.
SNOOPY (male – low C to high A) – Snoopy displays an exalted sense of grandeur and entitlement, has a quick sense of humor. A born entertainer, Snoopy must be a good mover and fearless actor.
LINUS VAN PELT (male – low Bb to high E) A philosopher, wise beyond his years, though he still finds comfort in his blanket. Charlie Brown’s confidante. Must be good mover. Tap or soft shoe a plus.

Sam is an actor working as a reservations clerk in the basement of an excruciatingly fashionable Manhattan restaurant. It's December. He's got a recently widowed father home alone in South Bend, an absurdly dysfunctional work environment, and a stage career stuck on a treadmill of disappointment. Sam spends virtually the entire play on the phone, carrying on both ends of the conversations with a pleading, screaming, entitled public. He also juggles internal calls from the members of the terrified staff of the establishment, where the nomenclature makes the cooking sound as if it were the subject of a United Nations conference. ''The chef calls it 'global fusion,' '' Sam explains.
Fully Committed is rapid-fire funny without being slapstick or blunt-object obvious, via an inventive one-man conceit that evokes 36 characterizations.
Director Jay Sandrich is well known for his Emmy-winning television work, including direction on the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Soap, The Cosby Show and dozens of others.
SAM (late 20s – late 40s) one actor will play over 40 different characters, including Sam, the reservationist, the chef, the maitre d', and all the various customers. Skillful comedian required. Actor will also be performing in repertory in the cast of Les Misérables, so must sing well.
