Accepting Submissions for CENTRE STAGE – SOUTH CAROLINA’S NEW PLAY FESTIVAL



Centre Stage’s 11th Annual New Play Festival will run in September of 2013 (dates pending) in Greenville, South Carolina.



The New Play Festival at Centre Stage features the works of three or four finalists selected from submissions of playwrights. These plays will be presented in staged readings that begin each evening at 7 p.m. Admission to the readings is free and open to the public.



Each performance will be followed by an in-depth discussion of the work, led by the Festival Chairperson and a guest Playwright-In-Residence. On the last evening of the Festival, Centre Stage will present the latest work in development by the Playwright-In-Residence, followed by a discussion of that work with the playwright.



Submission and Festival Information:



There is no submission fee for the New Play Festival.



The submission deadline for the 2013 NPF is March 1, 2013. Scripts received after that date will be considered for the following year. Three or four finalists will be selected by July 1, 2013.



All plays that are not selected for the festival will be recycled. Please do not include any type of return postage. Please check our website: centrestage.org July 1 for the announcement of the 2013 finalists.



All serious submissions are read by at least two readers. Successful submissions; considered semifinalists are read by a committee to determine finalists.
